Background

In 2012, the market for storing power from solar panels was less than 200 million. An IMS Research report expects the market for storing power from solar panels will reach $19 billion by 2017. One of SaltX main challenges has been to illustrate to customers (energy, real estate, construction, transportation, universities) what they do and demonstrate how their technology works. Their current demo sample has an uncanny resemblance to a bomb from the second world war. As a means to increase sales and recognition, they requested a new design of the product which would require building a new version of the storage unit.
